Community Guidelines
These guidelines set out the rules for using the online features of "VELSIA: Star Ring Arena" (the "App") so that everyone can enjoy it safely. They form part of the Terms of Service of BITCOINPAY K.K. ("we", "us").
1. Scope
These guidelines apply to the following in the App's online features (online matches, spectating, friends and party invitations):
- display names (player names) and the room names generated from them;
- friend requests and party invitations; and
- your behavior in matches and lobbies.
You can use the online features after accepting these guidelines and the Terms of Service in the App. Players under 13 cannot use the online features.
2. Display name rules
Your display name is shown to everyone in your room, to spectators and to people you send friend requests to, and it stays in the replays saved on other players' devices. Do not use a display name that:
- includes information that identifies you or anyone else, such as a real name, address, phone number, email address, school or social media handle;
- contains sexual, violent or discriminatory language, insults, crude language or anything else likely to offend;
- claims to be another player, a celebrity, us (the operator) or an official VELSIA account;
- includes other companies' trademarks or product names, URLs, or anything meant to advertise or solicit; or
- encourages illegal or dangerous behavior.
You can change your display name at any time on the profile screen in the App. Using a word list on your device, the App automatically rejects display names that contain some offensive words or contact details (such as URLs, email addresses, social media handles or phone numbers). Display names and room names from other players are checked the same way, and those that match are not shown (they are replaced with "Player" or similar). Automatic checks can't catch every inappropriate name, so if you see one that got through, please report it as described in section 5.
3. Prohibited conduct
Hurting other players
- Abusive language, threats, discrimination or defamation
- Stalking, or sending unwanted friend requests or invitations over and over
- Showing sexual or violent content to others
- Revealing other people's personal information
Impersonation and cheating
- Pretending to be another player or us
- Using another player's identifiers to take over their seat or connection
- Using modified versions of the App or third-party tools (cheats), or exploiting bugs
- Interfering with connections, or attacking or overloading the relay server
Undermining fair play
- Deliberately going idle, losing on purpose, or helping the opposing team
- Agreeing on the outcome of a match in advance
- Passing information you see as a spectator to players to give them an advantage
Other
- Buying or selling items, data or friend codes for real money
- Advertising, soliciting or spamming
- False or abusive reports
- Anything that breaks the law or offends public decency
4. Playing safely
- Only give your room codes and friend code to people you know. Anyone who knows a room code can join or spectate that room without the host's approval. The host can remove players from the room.
- You can block players who bother you. Blocked players can no longer send you friend requests or invitations, and cannot join rooms you host.
- When you open the online screen in the App, other devices on the same Wi-Fi or other local network can see your room and join or spectate it. Don't open the online screen on public Wi-Fi or any network shared with people you don't know.
- The App has no free-text chat or voice chat. Don't exchange contact details with, or arrange to meet, people you only know from the game.
5. Reporting
If you see a display name or behavior that breaks these rules, please report it to us with "Report" on the online screens or the match results screen. See Reporting and Blocking for details. We do not tell the reported player who made the report.
6. How we enforce these guidelines
- We do not inspect or record the content of traffic forwarded by the relay server. We act on reports from users and the information they provide.
- When we receive a report, we review it. If we find a violation, we may temporarily or permanently restrict the player's use of the online features (including suspending their friend code), depending on the nature and seriousness of the violation. A suspended friend code can no longer send or receive friend requests or invitations. For serious violations we may take stronger measures straight away.
- If an inappropriate name got past the automatic checks, we update the word list on the device and ship it in an App update.
- Matches on the same network and matches joined by room code are not tied to friend codes, so we may not be able to stop someone from joining them. Use the host's "Remove from Room" and "Block".
- If we suspect a crime, we may consult the police or other authorities.
- To protect the other player's privacy, we may not tell the reporter what action we took.
7. Appeals
If you think a measure was taken against you by mistake, or you disagree with it, email us at info@btcpay.jp with your friend code within 30 days after you become aware of it. We will review it and let you know whether the measure stays in place or is lifted. If we made a mistake, we will reverse the measure.
8. For parents
If your child uses the online features, please go through these guidelines together. Information for parents, including spending limits, iPhone controls and how the online features work, is on the For Parents page.
9. Changes
We may update these guidelines as needed. We will announce any changes in the App or on our website.
