10 heroes, 5 roles
Duelist, Ranger, Arcanist, Support and Assassin. Every hero has a Passive, two Skills and an Ultimate, and all 10 are available from the start.
Three lanes and a jungle
Three tiers of towers, jungle sentinels and river bosses. Ambush from the brush and fight for bosses to swing the match.
92 items, 15 spells, 30 runes
Buy any time during a match and combine components into stronger items. Build your own loadout for every hero.
AI that reads the game
Allies and enemies lane, jungle, retreat, contest bosses and group for teamfights. Choose from three difficulty levels. Matches against AI need no connection.
Play online with friends
Share a room code to play with friends anywhere, or join people nearby on the same Wi-Fi, with up to 10 players. AI fills any empty seats, and there are spectator seats too. Add friends with friend codes and invite them to your party.
Newcomer friendly
A Tutorial and Practice mode, auto-targeting attacks and one-tap recommended items.
Cosmetic-focused purchases
Paid items are cosmetics (effects, emotes, avatar frames and more) plus Star Pass Premium. Every hero is available from the start and heroes are never sold. Nothing paid is randomized.

Modes
Classic (Standard) and Ranked
You and four AI allies vs five AI enemies. Ranked adds a hero draft and seven tiers, Meteorite to Star Sovereign.
Brawl, Rising, Custom and Auto Battler
Single-lane quick matches, a win-to-advance run, custom rules and an 8-player auto battler.
Online matches
Get together with a room code or on the same Wi-Fi and play 5v5. The host chooses the teams (everyone together, or split into two sides) and whether spectators can watch. Online play is free.
Spectate and Replays
Watch AI vs AI. Your matches are saved automatically and can be rewatched with rewind and speed controls.
